317 Fussell Street

Subdivisions are not all the same, however as we continue to say every-time, please take some time to read the application (deets below) and make up your own mind.

fence signDEVELOPMENT NUMBER: PLP/2013/189

DEVELOPER: Dickson Hearn Pty Ltd

SITE: 317 Fussell Street

APPLICATION: Subdivide land into three (3) lots

The people subdividing the land that they live on and intend to stay here. They have said they have no intention of letting anything adverse happen to where they live. They have been proactive about their plan and have spoken to many neighbours about the subdivision already. They were keen to ensure people knew about it, gave some feedback about it and understood his reasons for applying for it.

We applaud planning like this where owners are keen to communicate their ideas and their projects and be willing to support the locals understanding of it.

All three blocks will be over 1,000m2, two on street frontage at 1,031m2 & 1,661m2 and one very large one approx 3,925m2 at the rear of the property. This owner has promised to work to get a Section 173 on the land so that further subdivision isn’t possible. They want to continue to live here and want to protect this place as much as we do.

Please don’t take our word for it, get involved, be informed. How to have a look at the application:

  • go online – click here to see how
  • go into the Planning Office at the Phoenix Building, 25 Armstrong Street North

You can make a written submission on this subdivision, either objecting or supporting it. Please note if you do not make a submission you will considered as being in favour. Do it online or send hard copy to the City of Ballarat, or you may also email markthompson@ballarat.vic.gov.au

This one looks very sensible, with room for kids to play, keep a dog, and a clothes line. Just hope that the blocks can’t be cut up further as soon as the development is approved.

  2. Roy says:

Just to point out that the response to a development is a submission, and if you approve of a development you can use the same forms to say so.
We can encourage good development as well as deter bad.
