Recently the council approved the proposed development at 628 Wilson Street. HOWEVER with 23 conditions plus notes. Is it just me or if a proposed development needs THAT many conditions to comply with MINIMUM standards we are looking at a bad development?

The community will be keeping a close eye on this one with the help of the council compliance officer, we like to keep them busy!!

  1. Judyann says:

Bonds, of this type, have never been enough to encourage developers, miners etc. to make any effort to restore the land. The bonds do not reflect the current costs of restitution.
Time limits need to be put on this as well. Stockade St., has been a derelict building site for many years now .

  2. Diane says:

A bond should be provided until conditions are met. Stockade St is a good example, no street trees, pavements lifting, builders rubbish everywhere. Who is the compliance officer?
